Weekend Spring Garden Workshops – book now!

Two inspiring and invigorating new workshops are coming up this spring to give your mind and your garden a boost. Both will be hosted at Warradale in our home garden and will combine useful information and the company of like-minded locals with hands-on experience and scrumptious fresh vegetarian food. These workshops are ideal for beginning gardeners.

Workshop 1: BOOMING ORGANIC VEGIES, Saturday 7th Sept, 10-4.

Covers: vegetable selection for Spring, soil preparation, sowing seeds and transplanting seedlings, laying out vegetable beds, planning for crop rotation, watering and basic irrigation systems, shade and light, managing and preserving your vegetable harvest, managing pests and diseases, and plant nutrition. Organic seeds will be available for sale.

Please bring your own garden gloves, water bottle, hat, notebook and pen. This is primarily an outdoor course and may be rescheduled if the garden happens to receive its entire annual rainfall that day 😉

Workshop 2: EDIBLE GARDEN DESIGN ESSENTIALS, Sunday 22nd Sept, 10-4.

Covers: Permaculture ethics and principles, gardens as human habitat, clarifying your aims for your garden, zones and sectors as planning tools, access issues, where to plant what, DIY project planning, developing your site plan, making the most of small spaces, vertical gardening, native habitat, integrating small animals in a permaculture system (chooks, bees and worms).

Please bring your own A4-sized base plan (e.g. print an aerial view from Google Maps with an arrow showing North), water bottle, hat, A4 notebook, pen and coloured pencils. This course will be mainly under cover but includes a garden tour and outdoor observation time.

$95 per workshop, payable upon booking, includes lunch, snacks, tea/coffee and printed notes.

Discount: for only $175 you can either book yourself into both workshops, or book yourself and another person into one workshop (save $15)

Catering: Lunch and snacks will be freshly made vegetarian with organic and locally sourced ingredients wherever possible, from Enliven Holistic Health Cafe. Gluten-free options will be available. Please advise of any dietary requirements when booking.

Cancellation policy: $25 cancellation fee applies per workshop – remainder of payment is refundable with a minimum of 7 days notice to allow your place in the course to be refilled – or you can choose to use the remainder of payment as a credit towards home garden consultation services.
